I can't believe my little boy is a year old! This time has flown by like none other!
On April First, Finn turned one. I've been periodically working on this blog for two months now since it's been on the back burner of blogs I need to write. Not only that, I kept coming back and just couldn't find the words.
I'm a mama of a one year old now. This means that Finn has gone from babbling and crawling to saying words and running around our apartment. He's figuring out spoons instead of eating with his hands and thinks everything is Daddy. Time is flying by and I love that I've been able to document it pretty well!
I remember giving birth- how much I loved it. Then, how colicky he was and how unravelled his constant screaming made me. His first four months were nothing but acid reflux and no less than 5 outfit changes a day, for both of us. After about 4 months he grew out of the screaming and throwing up. Around the time of his birth I had gotten more into photography after taking a large hiatus. I had begun to document his "firsts" but hadn't taken it to the level of being a business.
Phinias has been my big push. What began as a hobby was a big support to our family during my husband's transition from job to job, until being hired on at his current job. It's been a blessing to be able to help support us so much!
Finn - 6 Months
This past year has been the best, and hardest year of our lives. We look forward to traveling this summer with Finn!
Finn Cake Smash - One Year - By Ella Eve Photography
For the record, Finn didn't even touch those pancakes. I'm just happy we got some with them! I wanted Finn to be hungry but also happy, so it was a hard balance of snacking beforehand but not snacking too much. There's a big reason I don't do many cake smashes! I love these photos my good friend Leah took of him (edited by me) and will cherish them forever. Truth be told, I was stressing out about his cake smash photos and planning his birthday to do both. Even us photographer moms should hire photographers! I value photography and I'm often behind the camera. I even have our own family photos coming up next month!
I'm proud to have made it to my goal of breastfeeding for one year. My new goal is two years but I'm taking it day by day, especially now that he has five teeth going on six!
Mom & Me Session with Finn and I - Photos by Wild Soul Weddings
I'm excited to see the person you grow up to be, little one. Your soul is so tender, and I wouldn't trade the cuddles I get every night for the world. Here's to one year of you!
If you haven't already, read Finn's birth story here!
Are you a mama? When was the last time you got in front of the camera with your littles? Let's change that!
